Team News: Uruguay's Luis Suarez to start against England in crucial World Cup match

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez will start for Uruguay against England in Thursday's crucial World Cup match, less than a month after undergoing knee surgery.

Luis Suarez will start for Uruguay against England in Thursday's crucial World Cup Group D match.

The Liverpool forward, who scored 31 Premier League goals last season, had been a doubt having not played since undergoing surgery knee surgery last month.

He did not feature, even as a substitute, in Uruguay's opening 3-1 defeat to Costa Rica, but is named as strike partner to Edinson Cavani for tonight's meeting with the Three Lions.

Suarez replaces Diego Forlan and is one of four changes made by Uruguay manager Oscar Tabarez, who is without captain Diego Lugano due to injury and suspended defender Maxi Pereira in Sao Paulo.

Walter Gargano also drops out, as Suarez, Jose Gimenez, Alvaro Pereira and Nicolas Lodeiro come in.

England are expected to be unchanged from the side that narrowly lost 2-1 to Italy in Manaus, although Wayne Rooney could be deployed in a central role, with Raheem Sterling shifted to the wing.

Uruguay: Muslera; Caceres, Gimenez, Godin, Pereira; Gonzalez, Arevalo Rios, Lodeiro, Rodriguez; Cavani, Suarez
