Pablo Zabaleta confident of Manchester City progress

Pablo Zabaleta believes that Manchester City will qualify for the Champions League knockout stages, despite facing a tough match against Roma in their Group E decider.

Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has said that his side are confident of getting a result against Roma in their Champions League group stage match on Wednesday evening.

The Citizens need to claim a score draw or a victory to finish above Roma in the Group E table, while also hoping that they better CSKA Moscow's result against Bayern Munich.

"We are a much better team now than when we played Roma at home and drew 1-1," The Mirror quotes Zabaleta as saying.

"Confidence is high at the moment and that's what we need to play against Roma and win the game. We know it's a crucial game in the Champions League to go through to the next round.

"Rome is always a very difficult place to go and win. They have a very good team and they're second in the Italian league. It's going to be a very tough game but if we continue playing in this way we'll have a good chance to qualify."

Manchester City reached the final 16 of the Champions League last season, but were beaten 4-1 on aggregate by Barcelona.
