Manchester City could be without Kevin De Bruyne for the next month due to an ankle injury, according to a report.

Manchester City could reportedly be without Kevin De Bruyne for the next month due to the ankle problem that the attacker picked up against Chelsea.

The Belgium international had to be replaced in the second half of Saturday's 1-0 FA Cup semi-final defeat to Thomas Tuchel's side, having suffered an ankle issue in a challenge with N'Golo Kante.

According to the Daily Mail, the 29-year-old is fearful that he has suffered ligament damage, which could rule him out for the next month.

The report claims that De Bruyne will undergo a scan in the coming days to determine the extent of the injury, and there is a strong chance that he could be absent for the EFL Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur and two-legged Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Belgian missed five straight league matches between January 26 and February 13 due to a hamstring problem but has returned to his best form in recent weeks.

Man City will resume their Premier League campaign away to Aston Villa on Wednesday evening, and Pep Guardiola's side are now just eight points clear of second-placed Manchester United in the table.
