Manchester City's Sergio Aguero suffers hamstring injury on international duty

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is stretchered off the pitch while on international duty for Argentina after suffering a hamstring injury.

Manchester City's Sergio Aguero picked up a hamstring injury while playing for Argentina in last night's 2018 World Cup qualifier against Ecuador.

The 27-year-old, who scored five goals in City's 6-1 drubbing of Newcastle United last weekend, damaged his hamstring during Argentina's 2-0 victory.

Aguero, who needed to be stretchered off the pitch after suffering the injury in his left leg, is due to undergo a scan and is likely to miss Argentina's match against Paraguay next week.

It is not yet clear if the striker will be fit for City's home game against Bournemouth on October 17.
