Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has insisted that the calf injury he picked up against Juventus on Tuesday night will not keep him on the sidelines.
The Belgian defender left the pitch with the score at 1-1 to be replaced by Nicolas Otamendi, before Alvaro Morata struck a late winner a few minutes later to condemn Manuel Pellegrini's side to defeat.
However, Kompany claims that the injury is unlikely to prevent him from playing against West Ham United on Saturday.
"It was just a precaution," the centre-back told reporters. "It is not serious, I know my body."
City have also been handed a boost with reports suggesting that Sergio Aguero will be fit enough to start when the Hammers visit the Etihad Stadium.
