Manchester City's Bacary Sagna: 'Tiredness not an excuse for poor results'

Bacary Sagna insists that the Manchester City team cannot use fatigue as an "excuse" for their recent defeat.

Manchester City right-back Bacary Sagna has insisted that the team cannot use fatigue as an "excuse" for poor results.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini recently claimed that his squad are tired because he has been forced to select the same players due to injuries.

However, Sagna has claimed that the team can have no excuses for losing 2-0 to Stoke City at the weekend.

"The amount of games is not an excuse, because we have everything around us to make our life easy - we have good facilities and good staff, and as much as we can recover we have to do it," Sagna told reporters. "I am not scared of playing many games and am ready to give my maximum."

City will take on Borussia Monchengladbach in their final group match in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
