Martin Demichelis looking forward to Manchester City debut

Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis states his eagerness to make his debut for the club.

Manchester City defender Martin Demichelis has stated his eagerness to make his debut for the club.

The Argentina centre-back has yet to feature for City after suffering a knee injury upon his arrival in the summer.

Demichelis made his return for City's Elite Development Squad in a game against Rochdale earlier this week, and later said that he cannot wait to make his Premier League bow.

"It was difficult at the beginning with the injury but that allowed me to meet everybody at the club and feel confident and comfortable with everybody, so it's fantastic now and I'm looking forward to my debut," he told the club's official website.

"It was important to play and get the confidence back. It felt great to play and was important to feel what a game is like again.

"My knee responded very well and I'm very happy after working very hard to get here."

The 32-year-old arrived from Atletico Madrid for around £5m.
