Manchester City players are reportedly expecting head coach Pep Guardiola to sign a new contract with the Premier League champions in the near future.
Guardiola's current deal at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire in June 2023, and there have been claims that he could move on from the Etihad Stadium next year, particularly if he is able to win the Champions League.
However, according to The Mirror, the Spaniard 'cannot walk away' from the Citizens, having built a dominant team since arriving in 2016.
"Pep can't walk away from this. He has built a team that can continue to dominate for years. He has it all at City, including working for people who give him the freedom to work how he wants. He doesn't ever have to compromise," the newspaper quotes a source as saying.
Guardiola is allegedly keen to 'create a dynasty' at the Etihad Stadium and does not want to move on despite leaving his managerial roles with Barcelona and Bayern Munich after four years and three years respectively.
Man City are currently nine points clear of second-placed Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table, while they booked their spot in the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 4-1 victory over Fulham on Saturday.
