Roberto Mancini eyes record points tally

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini challenges his side to win all of their 11 remaining league games.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has challenged his side to win all of their remaining league games in order to ensure that the title goes to the Etihad Stadium.

City have 11 games left, starting with Sunday's trip to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea, and a win in each would give them a total of 99 points at the end of the season, four better than Chelsea's current record of 95.

However, Mancini is under no illusions as to how hard the title run-in will be for his side.

"If we get to 99 we will win. 66 plus 33 is 99 - but I am not good at mathematics," said the Italian.

"It will be a tricky game because Swansea play very well at football. We will need to play well if we want to win there. I can say they are one of the best teams that play football.

"I think every game from now until the end will be problematic because we play teams playing against relegation, playing for the Champions League or the title. Swansea at home are fantastic, they are having a good season but we want to continue winning."

City currently sit at the top of the Premier League table, two points clear of local rivals Manchester United.
