Former Lazio boss Roberto Mancini insists that he would consider taking charge of their bitter rivals Roma if approached this summer.

Roberto Mancini has refused to rule out taking over as Roma manager this summer if offered the job, despite his allegiance to bitter city rivals Lazio.

Mancini spent four years as a player at Lazio and also managed the Aquile for two seasons, winning the Copa Italia during a largely successful spell in charge at the Olimpico.

With Roma compiling a shortlist of candidates to replace interim coach Aurelio Andreazzoli, the former Manchester City boss has insisted that he is keen to find work quickly and will consider a return to Serie A for the right project.

He told Sky Sport Italia: "Would I accept the Roma post? I am a professional and I'm ready to work anywhere.

"I don't rule anything out. Will I return to Italy? I don't know at the moment, it's too early to say."

AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has also been consistently linked with the Roma job, with his future far from certain at the San Siro.
