Alan Pardew ready for Manchester City

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes that his side are capable of beating Manchester City tomorrow afternoon.

Alan Pardew has warned Manchester City that his Newcastle United side are a different proposition this time around.

City defeated the Magpies 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium back in November.

However, Newcastle have since played their way into Champions League contention with positive results against some of the bigger teams in the Premier League.

With that in mind, Pardew believes that his side are capable of claiming a positive result against Roberto Mancini's team.

"We've closed the gap since we last played City, even though we were upbeat back then," said Pardew. "We've taken points off Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal and United. City are the only ones we have not.

"So it's there for us to take points off all the top teams. That would be a great feat and I think we can do it.

"We'll see who comes out on top but we have the advantage because we're at home and our fans make a huge difference to us."

Newcastle are currently fifth in the Premier League table.
