Manuel Pellegrini insists his Manchester City side "can do better"

Manuel Pellegrini hopes that his players can improve, despite sitting second in the league, just one point behind Arsenal.

Manuel Pellegrini believes that Manchester City still have room for improvement, despite scoring 92 goals in all competitions this season.

City are currently second in the Premier League, one point behind leaders Arsenal.

However, Pellegrini says that he wants his players to do even better, and insists that he will not change his team's attacking style of play.

"I hope we can do better. It's very important to win titles, not to make mistakes in important games. That's why every game is a test for all of us, it doesn't matter against who we play," Pellegrini is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"A lot of managers can manage the way they want. There's not just one way to do it. Maybe other managers would see their team score one goal and then prefer to go back and counter attack, than try to score the second goal.

"But for me it's very important to continue the way I play. I've been the same my whole career."

City face Newcastle United on Sunday.
