Report: Alvaro Negredo suffers setback in training

A report claims that Alvaro Negredo left a Valencia training session on Monday morning with a possible recurrence of his foot injury.

Alvaro Negredo has reportedly suffered a big setback in his bid to return from a serious foot injury.

The Spanish forward is currently on loan at Valencia from Manchester City, but has not yet made a single appearance for Los Che after arriving with an injury.

It had been claimed that the experienced striker could return for the La Liga clash with Atletico Madrid next weekend.

However, according to Inside Spanish Football, Negredo left a training session early on Monday morning following a challenge with teammate Ruben Vezo.

The 29-year-old is expected to undergo tests later this afternoon, with a statement from Valencia due before the end of the day.
