Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers speaks highly of his team's performance after their 1-0 defeat to Premier League champions Manchester City.

Following their 1-0 defeat to defending Premier League champions Manchester City, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has spoken with pride about his team's performance.

The two sides went into half time level at the King Power Stadium, before Bernardo Silva's goal on the hour mark made the difference and fired the visitors to victory.

Speaking to lcfc.com, Rodgers said: "I thought the team gave everything into the game, you know you're going to have to work and you're going to have to run when you're against Manchester City, but I felt we deserved something from it. We had really good pressure at times.

"We were very, very competitive, so I'm just disappointed we couldn't take something from it because we had enough chances. With a bit of the luck they got for the goal, we might have taken something from the game," he went on to say, after Harvey Barnes saw a headed effort hit the crossbar and Jamie Vardy's goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR check.

The Foxes return to action on Thursday, when they kick off their Europa League campaign with a trip to Napoli, followed by a meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion on the South Coast on Sunday.
