Xherdan Shaqiri: 'Stoke City have a lot of potential'

Xherdan Shaqiri claims that Stoke City have plenty of potential after their victory over Manchester City.

Stoke City attacker Xherdan Shaqiri has suggested that the Potters are capable of beating every team in the Premier League.

Mark Hughes's side are now into ninth place after two early goals from Marko Arnautovic helped them to a 2-0 victory over Manchester City.

However, Shaqiri, who set up both goals, has revealed that he and Arnautovic were working together as a forward partnership in the build-up to the game at the Britannia Stadium.

He is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "We tried this all week in training so we of course are happy that we scored in the game like this. It is important that we play how the coach wants and today we see that from the first minute we want to win the game. The two goals were very nice.

"We have a very good team, we can win against every team in the Premier League. This year the league is weird, every team can lose. We must work hard together and that is the key for the season. We have a lot of potential."

Stoke have now taken 10 points from their last six matches at home.
