John Stones feeling "at home" with Manchester City

Manchester City defender John Stones says that he has settled into his new surroundings quickly following his £47.5m switch from Everton.

Manchester City defender John Stones has said that he has settled into life at the club well since his £47.5m move from Everton.

Stones became the second most expensive defender in football history when he made the switch to the Etihad Stadium, despite having been in and out of the Everton first team last season.

However, the 22-year-old has made a solid start to his City career, starting all four games under Pep Guardiola so far, and he is enjoying life at the club.

"I am just trying to work hard, as everyone else is in the team, to get better and on the same page as everyone. It is great to play when things come off and we are still working out how we can improve. We'll keep working hard on the training pitch and bring that to the games. Every game is a new challenge and it is an exciting one," he told reporters.

"It is all new feelings - new club, new surroundings, new players - but it is all settling in so quickly. I feel at home and am just enjoying my football, but everyone wants to be in that starting XI. All I can do is keep working hard.

"It is vital you do that in training and prove yourself and show that you deserve to play on the weekend. Everyone is doing that in the team."

Stones is expected to start again when Man City face West Ham United on Sunday.
