Claudio Bravo completes Manchester City move

Claudio Bravo completes his move from Barcelona to Manchester City on a four-year deal.

Claudio Bravo has completed his move from Barcelona to Manchester City on a four-year deal.

The Chilean goalkeeper completed his medical at the club earlier this week, but the move was held up while Barcelona waited for official confirmation that they had signed Jasper Cillessen as Bravo's replacement.

That deal was finalised earlier today, paving the way for Bravo to complete his move to the Etihad Stadium for an undisclosed fee - thought to be around £15.4m.

"I'm very proud to be joining Manchester City. I know the club is building something very special and I hope I can be part of many successes in the coming years. I have followed City's progress in recent years and obviously know some of my new teammates from the Copa America," he told the club's official website.

"It is not easy to leave a club like Barcelona where I had two fantastic years, but the opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola was too good to refuse. Now I will challenge the other great goalkeepers the club has and together I hope we can win many trophies."

Guardiola added: "Claudio is a fantastic goalkeeper and an excellent addition to our squad. He has experience and great leadership qualities and is in the prime of his life. He is a goalkeeper I have admired for a number of years and I'm really happy he is now a City player."

Bravo's arrival could spell the end of Joe Hart's 10-year stay at the club, with the England number one now finding himself third in the pecking order at club level.

Bravo, who becomes City's seventh signing of the summer, won back-to-back league titles during his two years at Camp Nou.
