Arsene Wenger has promised Arsenal fans that Robin van Persie will not be sold to Manchester City and nor will any of his teammates.
The Gunners have sold Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Adebayor to the blue side of Manchester over the past three summers for a combined fee of £71m.
City boss Roberto Mancini had expressed his admiration for the Dutchman last week before backtracking and denying his interest in the player.
Regardless of the Italian's stance, Wenger has insisted that the top-scoring Premier League striker will not be sold.
The Frenchman said: "We will not lose anybody to Manchester City.
"We want to keep Robin van Persie. We will do everything possible to extend his contract, that is clear, and apart from that, I can only let people talk.
"Look, our desire is clean and clear. What he wants to do, we will speak at the end of the season."
Van Persie's current contract expires in 2013 and Wenger had previously admitted that he would rather let the striker leave on a bosman than sell him this summer.
