Gareth Barry believes that Mario Balotelli is "happy" at Manchester City and says that his goal against Wigan Athletic on Wednesday will increase his confidence.

Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry has insisted that his teammate Mario Balotelli has no plans to leave the club.

The Italian striker has struggled to play regularly for the Premier League champions this season and has been linked with both AC Milan and Inter Milan.

"I think he is happy," The Mirror quotes Barry as saying. "If you saw him day to day, you'd see no reason to think he isn't happy.

"He's probably not played as much as he would have liked, but he's kept his head as well as anybody else who isn't getting chances.

"He started against Wigan (in City's 2-0 win on Wednesday) and scored, so that will help him."

Balotelli joined City from Inter in 2010.
