Manchester City are reportedly preparing a bid for Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi.
Manager Roberto Mancini was rumoured to be keen on the 28-year-old during the January transfer window, however the Citizens' owners were allegedly unwilling to finance the move.
Mancini has persuaded his superiors to change their minds and the Premier League champions are now willing to spend £23.5m on bringing De Rossi to the Etihad Stadium, according to Il Messaggero.
De Rossi, who is contracted to Roma until 2017, has been capped 78 times by Italy at senior international level.
