Juventus coach Antonio Conte has admitted defeat in their pursuit of Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic.
La Viola are looking for €30m (£25m) for the 23-year-old, and Conte has claimed that their asking price is unrealistic.
"He has a high price, which is justified because we are talking about a great player," Conte told reporters.
"But at these prices, it is obvious that he will not be going to an Italian team but elsewhere. Now we have six attackers, so we will see what happens."
The admission could pave the way for Manchester City to strike a deal after a recent report claimed that the club are preparing a £28m bid for the Montenegrin.
Juve have already added significantly to their striking department this summer with the arrivals of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente.
