Everton reportedly decide to join the race to sign Manchester City defender Angelino during the summer transfer window.

Everton's sporting director Marcel Brands is reportedly keen on signing Manchester City defender Angelino during the summer transfer window.

Brands has recently made the switch from PSV Eindhoven, but it appears that the new Toffees chief is keen to follow through with his previous interest in the player.

According to The Sun, Brands sees Angelino as a potential long-term replacement for Leighton Baines and is willing to take a risk on the 21-year-old, who has made just two senior outings for City.

The Spaniard has impressed during a loan period at Dutch club NAC Breda during the most recent campaign, having previously played 17 games for Mallorca.

As it stands, there appears little prospect of Angelino making the breakthrough at the Etihad Stadium and with just a year remaining on his contract, the Premier League champions are seemingly prepared to cash in on the youngster.
