Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola reveals that he has spoken to Kyle Walker amid interest from Bayern Munich.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he has spoken to Kyle Walker amid interest from Bayern Munich.

Walker has spent the last six years with the Citizens after arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in a transfer worth up to £50m.

Since joining the club, the right-back has made 254 competitive appearances for Man City, chipping in with six goals and 18 assists.

However, Walker is no longer a guaranteed starter in Guardiola's side, highlighted by the decision to omit him from the starting lineup for the Champions League final win over Inter Milan.

As a result, Walker's future with the Premier League champions has been called into question, with Bayern looking to secure his signature.

A recent report claimed that the England international has informed Guardiola that he wants to join the German champions this summer.

Walker has supposedly reached an agreement with Bayern over a two-year contract, which includes an option to extend by an additional 12 months.

Guardiola was asked in a press conference about Walker's future and whether he knew what his squad would look like for the upcoming season.

"Honestly, I didn't think there is the movement," Guardiola told reporters. "I think many things will happen. I cannot answer because I don't know. I want the best for my players and of course the club.

"I spoke with Kyle and everything is right - we will see what happens. I cannot tell you because he is still thinking about that."

Guardiola was speaking ahead of Man City's win over J1 League side Yokohama F.Marinos at the New National Stadium in Tokyo.

An Erling Haaland brace as well as goals from John Stones, Julian Alvarez and Rodri guided the Citizens to an entertaining 5-3 victory.

Walker wore the captain's armband and played the opening 45 minutes, before Guardiola changed all 10 outfield players at half time.

The defender will have the chance to play against the very club that want his services when Man City face Bayern on Wednesday.
