Gabriel Jesus has rubbished reports suggesting that Bayern Munich turned down the chance to sign him from Manchester City over the summer.

The Bundesliga champions launched a pursuit of winger Leroy Sane, holding meetings with representatives from City, only for the potential move to be abandoned when the German suffered a severe knee injury in August.

Reports from Germany have also claimed that while City were unwilling to part ways with Sane, the Citizens had offered Jesus to Niko Kovac's side.

Responding to this story on Instagram, Jesus killed the rumour dead by simply posting: "Lie."

The Brazilian, who moved to the Etihad in 2016, has scored four goals in seven appearances under Pep Guardiola this term.

Bayern recently stunned the footballing world by recording a superb 7-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in North London on Tuesday night.
