Newly-promoted Leicester City have reportedly approached free agent Gareth Barry over a potential move to the club.

The 33-year-old's career with Manchester City looks to be over after he was named on their list of released players.

The former England international impressed during a season-long loan spell at Everton last term.

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson believes that Barry's experience will be an asset to his squad as he prepares for Premier League football next season, according to talkSPORT.

The Foxes have already signed Matthew Upson, Marc Albrighton and Jack Barmby this summer.
