Manchester City are reportedly willing to let Aymeric Laporte leave the Etihad this summer if they are able to secure a replacement for the 29-year-old defender first.

Manchester City are reportedly prepared to accept offers for defender Aymeric Laporte this summer if they are able to secure a replacement first.

The 29-year-old has struggled for regular gametime this season as Pep Guardiola has preferred the likes of Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake and Ruben Dias in his back three, limiting Laporte to just 11 Premier League starts.

Having joined from Athletic Bilbao in January 2018, the Spain international has featured 179 times for the Citizens, helping the team to five Premier League titles.

According to Football Insider, Manchester City plan to accept offers for Laporte in this summer's transfer window if they manage to bring in a defender as a replacement first.

If Guardiola's side recruit another defender, it is believed that Laporte will be surplus to requirements at the Etihad, paving the way for the centre-back to move on.

The report claims that Laporte is keen on finding a new club as he searches for more regular gametime, and Europa League-bound Aston Villa are said to be interested in bringing the player to the West Midlands.

Laporte and his City teammates will be looking to complete a historic treble on Saturday night when they face Inter Milan in the final of the Champions League, and the Istanbul showdown could prove to be the defender's last match for the club.
