Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola suggests that he is keen to make four new signings during the summer transfer window.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has suggested that he wants to make four signings during the summer transfer window.

Guardiola has made just one high-profile addition during the last two windows, although City did try and fail to bring in a new defensive midfielder ahead of this season.

However, the Spaniard has said he is ready to look at "three or four positions", regardless of whether City successfully defend their Premier League crown.

Guardiola is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "There are three or four positions to look for. We have some ideas, but it's an option to buy one [a left-back].

"Today, [Benjamin] Mendy's not fit. It's not about English football, he's injured for two seasons. I'm concerned, because it can happen."

Guardiola's words come after Aymeric Laporte and Fernandinho picked up significant injuries, while John Stones and Gabriel Jesus have each missed the last three games.
