Pep Guardiola has reportedly targeted a move for Sergio Busquets over the next two transfer windows, with Yaya Toure being told that he can leave Manchester City.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has added Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets to his completed transfer wishlist, according to a report.

The Citizens are expected to strengthen their squad in January, despite boasting an 11-point lead at the top of the Premier League following a record-breaking run.

Guardiola will reportedly use next month's window to bring in central-defensive cover, with Southampton's Virgil van Dijk his top target, while Alexis Sanchez is expected to join from Arsenal as a free agent at the end of the campaign.

A third player has now been targeted by the City chief to turn his side into a dominant force in European football, as the Daily Star claims that defensive midfielder Busquets is also wanted.

City are said to be willing to pay up to £160m to bring in Van Dijk, Busquets and Sanchez over the next two transfer windows, with the Chilean to be offered wages of £60m over a five-year contract.

Yaya Toure will be allowed to leave the Etihad Stadium during the summer, meanwhile, bringing his eight-year stint with the club to an end.
