Manchester City are reportedly ready to make Alexis Sanchez the highest-paid player in Premier League history.
Sanchez's contract with current club Arsenal expires at the end of this season, and the Chilean has long been linked with a switch to City either once the Gunners decide to cash in or when the contract runs out.
The 29-year-old looks increasingly likely to leave on a free transfer next summer, allowing Sanchez to demand higher wages from any potential suitors.
The Mirror reports that City are willing to offer Sanchez a £400,000-a-week deal at the Etihad Stadium, which would see him surpass Manchester United's Paul Pogba as the Premier League's highest-paid player.
City are bidding to ward off interest from Paris Saint-Germain, who are also expected to launch an offer for the former Barcelona man.
Sanchez has scored four goals and created three more from his 15 Premier League appearances so far this season.
