Carlo Ancelotti: 'Cristiano Ronaldo will thrive off negativity'

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says that Cristiano Ronaldo will feed off Wednesday's "hostile" atmosphere in their Champions League clash with Liverpool.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo will relish Wednesday's "hostile" atmosphere against Liverpool in the Champions League.

Ronaldo is expected to be the subject of unfriendly attention from the Anfield crowd due to his prolific time with Liverpool's great rivals Manchester United.

However, Ancelotti has insisted that his star man will feed off the atmosphere inside the stadium.

"No, he won't be more motivated because it's Liverpool," Ancelotti told The Sun.

"Cristiano is always super-motivated. But, if the atmosphere is hostile, this motivates him more."

Ronaldo scored 17 Champions League goals last season as Los Blancos won their 10th European Cup.
