Marouane Fellaini has been left out of Manchester United's squad to face CSKA Moscow in the Champions League due to an injury sustained against Southampton at the weekend.
The Belgium international was caught by Shane Long during the first half of the Red Devils' 1-0 win at St Mary's Stadium, which boss Jose Mourinho felt was worthy of a dismissal.
Mourinho has been handed a further blow as Fellaini was not part of the travelling party that set off for Russia on Monday afternoon, with the ankle injury requiring time to heal.
United are already without another of their midfield players, as Paul Pogba is suffering from a hamstring problem that is expected to keep him out for at least another month.
Fellaini, reportedly in line for a new deal at Old Trafford, has featured six times for United in all competitions so far this season.
