Paul Scholes: 'Jose Mourinho will prioritise Premier League over Champions League'

Paul Scholes claims that Jose Mourinho will prioritise the Premier League over the Champions League with Chelsea this season.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will prioritise the Premier League over the Champions League this term.

The table-topping Blues host Bundesliga side Schalke 04 in their first game in Europe's premier competition on Wednesday, and ex-United star Scholes thinks that the Portuguese boss would rather win the domestic trophy.

Scholes told ITV Sport: "Whilst the Champions League is the ultimate trophy for any club team, I believe Chelsea's main objective is winning the Premier League this season.

"If you ask Jose Mourinho what you'd rather win now, I think the answer would be the Premier League."

Chelsea were beaten semi-finalists in the competition last year.
