Wayne Rooney: "I would love to go into management"

England captain Wayne Rooney reveals that he would relish the challenge of going into management when his playing career comes to an end.

Wayne Rooney has admitted that he would "love" to go into management when his playing career comes to an end.

The 29-year-old will earn his 100th cap for England when he leads his side out against Slovenia at Wembley Stadium.

Rooney has revealed that reaching the milestone has made him think about his career after his playing days, and he has said that he would relish the challenge of management.

He told reporters: "I've always said I would love to go into management. It would be a big call, at this age, to say I wanted to be England manager one day.

"I would just to get a job somewhere when I finish playing, hopefully, and see how it progresses from there. I would love to go into management."

Rooney also revealed that he almost considered quitting the game at the age of 14.
