Steven Gerrard calls on Liverpool and Man United fans to behave responsibly at Anfield on Saturday.

Steven Gerrard has called on Liverpool and Manchester United fans to behave responsibly ahead of their FA Cup clash at Anfield on Saturday.

The clubs' already-fiery rivalry has been hightened recently with Luis Suarez receiving an eight-game banfor using racist language towards Patrice Evra.

Talks between Liverpool and United officials have already taken place and the FA has reminded both clubs of their responsibilities.

"We all have a responsibility to ensure this game is remembered for the football," Liverpool captain Gerrard said. "Liverpool and Manchester United is a massive rivalry and there is going to be stuff in the newspapers and banter between fans.

"But it would be fantastic if it is remembered for being a top game and, from our point of view, a Liverpool win.

"We don't want any front-page stories from this game or any stories which are not about a football match between two top sides, and may the best team win."

The teams drew 1-1 when they last met in October.
