Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Sheffield United

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's Premier League clash with Sheffield United.

Manchester United will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they travel to Sheffield United for Thursday evening's showdown.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men played out a drab goalless stalemate with arch rivals Manchester City in Saturday's derby - only a few days after the Red Devils had bowed out of the Champions League at the first hurdle.

Thursday's visitors sit eighth in the Premier League table heading into this bout, although Man United have become renowned for their away form this term and are aiming to win their 10th top-flight game in a row on unfamiliar territory this week.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's trip to Bramall Lane.

Edinson Cavani

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 17 (vs. Sheffield United)

Edinson Cavani had been training prior to the Manchester derby but did not make the squad as he continues to nurse the muscle injury he picked up at West Ham United. Solskjaer has admitted that the Uruguayan striker is still a doubt for the trip to Bramall Lane and would likely make an appearance from the bench if he is risked.

Phil Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: December 26 (vs. Leicester City)

Phil Jones is the Red Devils' only long-term absentee at the moment with the knee problem that has kept him out of action for most of the year. The Englishman is expected to remain sidelined until after Christmas, but he was not named in Solskjaer's Premier League squad anyway.

Marcos Rojo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Solskjaer revealed in his pre-match press conference that Marcos Rojo's calf injury has flared up again. The Argentinian defender is now set to remain sidelined until January.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man United have no players suspended for their showdown with Sheffield United.
