Manchester United will be missing Leny Yoro for three months and Rasmus Hojlund for six weeks due to the injuries that the duo suffered against Arsenal.

Manchester United will be without Leny Yoro for three months and Rasmus Hojlund for six weeks due to the injuries that the duo suffered against Arsenal last weekend.

Yoro, in just his second appearance for the Red Devils, was forced off the field in the latter stages of the pre-season friendly due to a foot problem.

Meanwhile, Hojlund had to be replaced shortly after he found the back of the net, with the Denmark international picking up a hamstring issue.

Yoro was seen with his left foot in a protective boot and on crutches before Man United's fourth pre-season friendly of the summer against Real Betis, fuelling suggestions that he had suffered a serious problem.

It had been thought that Hojlund's issue was only minor, with the 21-year-old potentially being available before the end of Man United's US tour.

Yoro, Hojlund will be missing in early stages of new season

However, Hojlund is facing six weeks on the sidelines due to a hamstring problem, while Yoro fractured his metatarsal and is likely to be out for three months.

Hojlund is set to miss at least four competitive matches for Man United, including their opening three Premier League matches of the new campaign against Fulham, Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool.

Yoro, meanwhile, could miss as many as nine Premier League matches, in addition to the start of the club's Europa League and EFL Cup campaigns.

According to BBC Sport, Yoro will have further tests once he has returned to the United Kingdom, with the teenager set to stay with the Man United squad for the remainder of their US Tour.

Will Man United act on Yoro, Hojlund news?

Yoro's injury in just his second match for the club is a bitter blow, as he had been in line to start the season in the middle of the defence.

Lisandro Martinez is not currently with the squad due to his involvement for Argentina at the Copa America, while Victor Lindelof is being strongly linked with an exit.

As a result, Man United could accelerate their attempts to sign another centre-back ahead of the start of the season, with Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt thought to have already agreed personal terms with the club.

Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite also remains a target, although the Toffees will have to reduce their substantial asking price for the deal to become a possibility.

Man United have already brought in a new forward this summer in the shape of Joshua Zirkzee, and adding another striker at this stage of the window is unlikely, with the Red Devils having other priorities, including signing a central midfielder.
