Antonio Valencia to return for Arsenal clash?

Manchester United full-back Antonio Valencia could reportedly be in line to return from injury ahead of schedule in their home match against Arsenal.

Manchester United full-back Antonio Valencia could reportedly be fit to make an early return for the club during their match against Arsenal next weekend.

The 31-year-old suffered a broken arm during his side's EFL Cup clash with Manchester City last month and was expected to spend a prolonged spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery.

However, The Mirror reports that the Ecuadorian is making encouraging progress in his recovery and may be fit for the visit of Arsenal after the international break.

An early return would boost Jose Mourinho's defensive options, with Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw also currently sidelined through injury.

Matteo Darmian and Ashley Young have filled in for Valencia during his absence so far, but the latter remains top of the pecking order for Mourinho.
