Sergio Aguero has said that he and Wayne Rooney will "duel" for the Golden Boot until the very last match of the season.
The 23-year-old currently trails the Manchester United striker by one goal, having scored eight times in four appearances for the Citizens. However, the Argentinian insists that he will continue to fight for the record, as it is all part of the rivalry.
"It will be a beautiful duel with Rooney until the very last match," he is quoted as saying in The Sun. "I'm looking for a goal in every game.
"People tell me about the importance of our rivalry – and City's with United. This is not a rare situation for me. I had a similar experience in Spain against Real Madrid – without too much luck, I might say.
"So now I'm looking for a different outcome. I am here to win titles and am not merely seeking individual honours."
Aguero scored 74 goals in 175 appearances in five seasons at Atletico Madrid.
