Carlo Ancelotti "sorry" for David Moyes

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti says that he is "sorry" for David Moyes after the Scot lost his position as manager of Manchester United.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he is "sorry" for David Moyes after the Scot lost his position as manager of Manchester United earlier this morning.

Moyes was appointed by the Premier League champions last summer following the retirement of the long-serving Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, a disappointing campaign led to the United board calling time on his tenure.

"I'm sorry for David Moyes. I was a bit surprised, because Manchester United don't have that habit," Ancelotti told reporters at a press conference.

Ancelotti replaced Jose Mourinho at Los Blancos at the start of the season.
