Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson says that midfielder Anderson will be sidelined for "a few weeks" with a hamstring injury he picked up against Reading.

Manchester United midfielder Anderson has been sidelined for the next "few weeks" with a hamstring injury.

The 24-year-old suffered the injury during the Red Devils' 4-3 win against Reading in the Premier League on Saturday and was substituted just before half-time at the Madejski Stadium.

"It's a hamstring unfortunately," manager Sir Alex Ferguson told MUTV. "He'll be out for a few weeks.

"He's been playing really well and scored a great goal today. I'm very disappointed for him."

United are currently three points clear at the top of the table.
