Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale is hoping that his side can end a run of 23 years without recording a league double over Manchester United.

Gareth Bale has called upon Tottenham Hotspur to record their second victory over Manchester United this season when the two sides meet at White Hart Lane tomorrow afternoon.

During the first encounter at Old Trafford in September, Bale was among the scorers as Spurs returned to London with a 3-2 victory.

Spurs have not completed a league double over the Red Devils for 23 years but Welsh international Bale believes that it is time his side bring an end to that statistic.

"Another big game at the Lane tomorrow. We've not done the double over United for soooo long, so it's time to change that," the 23-year-old wrote on Twitter.

Spurs go into the encounter fourth in the Premier League table.
