Gary Caldwell claims that the Latics can continue their recent run at Old Trafford.

Gary Caldwell has said that Wigan Athletic have an excellent opportunity to continue their recent run ahead of their trip to Old Trafford on Monday afternoon.

Wigan, who have taken points from five of their last six contests, have never taken points from the Red Devils in 13 meetings with Sir Alex Ferguson's side. However, Caldwell insists that the club can turn that around next week.

"To do something this club has never done before and get a result from Old Trafford would be very special," he said.

"We're going there ready to give everything we've got, full of confidence and with a belief that we can do something.

"Of course, they're a top team, have home advantage and are right in the thick of a title challenge, so it'll be very difficult but an excellent opportunity to continue the strong run we're on."

Depending on outside results, a point at Old Trafford could be enough to lift the Latics out of the drop zone.
