Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick underlines the importance of winning against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has urged his side to build on their victory over Chelsea and get maximum points against Arsenal on Saturday.

The Red Devils defeated the Blues 3-2 at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League at the weekend to reduce the gap between themselves and the leaders to just one point.

"It's important to take points off your rivals likes Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal next week," he is quoted as saying by London24.com.

"Next week is just as important. It's a good start to the season. We've obviously had a couple of defeats but we've bounced back and we're still in a good position, so we can be happy."

Defending Premier League champions Manchester City are level on 21 points with United in third.
