Owen Coyle lavishes praise on Nick Powell

Wigan Athletic boss Owen Coyle praises Manchester United loanee Nick Powell following his goal against Ipswich Town.

Wigan Athletic manager Owen Coyle has sung the praises of Nick Powell after the youngster got his name on the scoresheet during their 2-0 win over Ipswich Town.

The Latics boss has described the Manchester United loanee as a "terrific player" and tipped him for great things in the future.

"I said to David [Whelan, Wigan chairman] when I was bringing him in, for me it was a win-win-win situation," Sky Sports News quotes Coyle as saying.

"We would win out of it because we got a terrific player, Nick Powell would win because I've given him a platform to showcase his talents and Manchester United will get back a more-developed player with more experience and a player who can challenge; as we've done before with the Sturridges and the Wilsheres. There's no doubt from me he can have a huge career."

Ryan Shotton was also on target during the 2-0 win over Ipswich, which lifts Wigan to 11th in the Championship with a game in hand.
