Manchester United winger Memphis Depay given number seven shirt

Manchester United confirm that summer signing Memphis Depay will wear the club's iconic number seven shirt this season.

Manchester United have confirmed that Memphis Depay will wear the club's iconic number seven shirt for the new season.

The Dutch international winger joined the Red Devils from PSV Eindhoven earlier this summer for a reported fee of £25m.

United unveiled their squad numbers for the 2015-16 campaign on Friday, and it was revealed that the 21-year-old will follow the likes of George Best, Eric Cantona and Cristiano Ronaldo by wearing the number seven on his back.

Manchester United start the new Premier League season tomorrow when they host Tottenham Hotspur.
