Christophe Dugarry: 'Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has lost the plot'

Former France international Christophe Dugarry says that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has "lost the plot" and describes Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a "training cone".

Former France international Christophe Dugarry has slammed Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic following the club's three consecutive defeats.

Mourinho, who took over from Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford in the summer, recently oversaw his team lose to Manchester City in the Premier League and Feyenoord in the Europa League.

On Sunday, United's poor results continued as they were beaten 3-1 by Watford at Vicarage Road.

Following the result, Dugarry, who now hosts a radio show in France, claimed that Mourinho has "lost the plot".

"I get the feeling Mourinho's last tactical success was that Champions League game between Inter Milan and Barcelona," The Telegraph quotes Dugarry as saying. "He's won titles since, but I think he's lost the plot. He believes he has become more important than the team.

"Tactically, I think he doesn't put anything in place. Apart from the players, who have changed, it's the same organisation as last season under Louis Van Gaal. He always blames the referee or their opponents' good fortune. There is no self-criticism."

Dugarry also criticised Ibrahimovic, despite the Swedish striker scoring four goals in five top-flight appearances for the Red Devils.

"Ibra is a training cone," said the Frenchman. "People talk about his stats, but he's a cone. When you see Zlatan's matches, it is not possible to do that. This is English football, which goes at 2,000 kilometres an hour."

United will switch their attention to the EFL Cup as they take on Northampton Town tomorrow.
