Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes that the goalscoring form of his strikers will ensure that the club will not lose the Premier League on goal difference this season.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson belives that his three first-choice strikers will score at least 20 goals each this season.

Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez all scored during United's 3-1 victory over Braga on Wednesday night, and Ferguson has backed them to repeat that form domestically as United look to avoid losing the Premier League title on goal difference for a second straight year.

Ferguson said: "Robin has got us 11 goals so far and Chicharito is on six and getting back to what he was a couple of years ago - a summer's rest has helped enormously.

"He's looking fresh and aggressive with his running, always a handful, and Wazza will get to 20 goals plus, I'm sure of that. It's a healthy combination we've got up there.

"Last year, we lost on goal difference and I don't expect us to lose on goal difference again - Robin may make that difference. Wayne had goals last year and the way Chicharito has started this season I'm certain he'll get to 20 plus."

Manchester United are currently one point clear at the top of the Premier League.
