Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher tells his teammates not to get carried away with their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has urged his teammates not to get carried away with their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

The Red Devils are currently six points ahead of rivals Manchester City following their recent 3-2 win at the Etihad Stadium.

However, Fletcher believes that last season's title race has given United plenty to think about after they were pegged back by eventual champions City.

"We have been in this position before - we were eight points in front of them last season with far fewer games to play and we didn't win the title," the Scot told PA Sport.

"We can't take anything for granted and look at the league table and think we are in a comfortable position. We use the experience of last season to realise that is not the case."

United travel to Swansea City in the league on Sunday.
