Manchester United fans 'plan anti-Glazer protest over lack of summer spending'

Manchester United fans are reportedly planning to protest against the Glazer family if the club fail to land any big-name players before the transfer window shuts.

Disgruntled Manchester United supporters are reportedly planning to vent their frustration at owners the Glazer family if the club fail to secure any big-money signings within the next 13 days.

The former Premier League champions have been quiet in the transfer market this summer, having only signed midfielder Ander Herrera and left-back Luke Shaw following new manager Louis van Gaal's appointment in May.

The pressure to strengthen the squad has intensified following Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Swansea City on the opening day of the season, but the Red Devils have just under two weeks to conclude their transfer business.

According to the Daily Mail, a group of supporters will protest against the club's American owners at Old Trafford when United play Queens Park Rangers on September 14 if they are not satisfied with the Red Devils' transfer activity in the remaining weeks of the window.

Following United's defeat to the Swans, a number of fans have expressed their anger on social media website Twitter with the hashtag #GlazerOut.

United have been linked with numerous players, including Arturo Vidal, Angel di Maria, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo, who is reportedly close to sealing a switch to Old Trafford.
