Manchester United attacker Mason Greenwood has been held by police overnight after being arrested on Sunday on suspicion of rape.
The England international hit the headlines at the weekend for all the wrong reasons after a woman posted videos on social media showing serious injuries claimed to be inflicted by Greenwood.
Later on that day, Man United released a statement which said that the 20-year-old will be banished from training and subsequently matches for the foreseeable future.
The Mirror reports that Greenwood was held in custody by Greater Manchester Police overnight as they continue to question him on the allegations.
Greenwood has been previously warned by the Red Devils about his behaviour following a number of disciplinary breaches, and also by Gareth Southgate after he was sent home from Iceland after making his senior England international debut.
The winger has scored five goals in 18 Premier League appearances this season for Man United.
